Support Detroit...

For anybody claiming that Detroit has lost its essence, or for those of you who feel like there is nothing positive going on in the city, and you want to experience something different, I have just the thing. Detroit Young Professionals is a volunteer organization that is all about moving Detroit and its people forward. More than just social networking, DYP is a place for young people to develop their professionalism and to have an opportunity to get involved in the advancement of their communities.

So many people leave Detroit because of the struggling economy or the fact that it seems like there is never anything optimistic to do around town, but DYP is trying to be the solution to that. This past February, the organization held a Leadership Summit at the Renaissance Club. The purpose of the summit was to discuss some of the challenges that young professionals and young leaders face in the city of Detroit.

There are a lot of us that talk a good game and say that we want to be more proactive when it comes to community involvement. Well here is a chance not only to make a contribution to our city, but to also grow as business professionals.
