Target Market News reports that the once iconic Black music dance and award shows are both officially a wrap. Funny thing is, the TV show ended in 2006 to no fan-fare and now the awards program is following suite. Honestly, I feel BET’s 106 & Park coupled with the BET Awards took Soul Train out the game, but you can’t deny Soul Train’s place in black history and contemporary prominence of urban music. I can honestly say I will miss flipping through the channels on a random Saturday afternoon and coming across the overzealous dancers and lip-synched performances.
