Well if you are one of the many Facebook users who has purchased, yes purchased, a "Gift" on the social network you have helped Mark Zuckerberg amass a fortune of $35 million dollars from Facebook Gifts alone this year. For those not in the Facebook loop, a Facebook Gift is an intangible .jpg file that one can post to a friend's profile page. Priced at $1 each, these little pictures have already accounted for 10% of Facebook's revenue in 2008.
With Facebook still holding a private company status, it is inevitable that when we spend money on the site as users, a great deal of that money is going in Zuckerberg's pocket. I am not hating on the dude, but since he is already like the most wealthy 23 year old on the planet, I don't think he needs another dollar from me or you.
