Allen Iverson is a Piston?!?!?!

In a super random trade, 3 games into the 2008-2009 NBA season, the Denver Nuggets have traded star guard, Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons, for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess. Iverson has said that he wants to compete for a championship and he feels like the Pistons are a more championship ready team than the Nuggets. However, one of the main reasons they were championship ready is because of Chauncey Billups.

The good for both teams: They each get something they were missing. The Nuggets get two defensive minded players that can hopefully stop some people since Denver has never really been able to do that. The Pistons on the other hand, get a scorer unlike anything they've ever had before with this current group.

The bad for both teams: Chauncey and Antonio combined won't be able to put up the numbers that Iverson is capable of putting up on a given night. Yea he isn't the same old Iverson, but neither are Chauncey and McDyess. The Pistons however, just lost the core of this current team in Chauncey Billups. Iverson has always been a scorer first and as much as I'm a fan, his style of play might not mesh well with the "team first" basketball that the Pistons have played since 2004. There are no "stars" on the Detroit Pistons and their success is because of that.

Hopefully it works out for both teams, but this one definitely seems like they're both reaching. Regardless of everything, you all know where my heart lies...LAKERS WILL WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Kobe runs basketball...holler!

  1. Man yeah the pistons never had a STAR...but we do we are considerably under the salary like over 38 million bucks...which will be great when lebron...d.wade...chris bosh...and some select others become free agents...the pistons will be right in the mix...and have the ability to participate in the bidding wars...joe d. knows what he's doin its...chess not checkers....

but KOBE is STILL the man
