Say Goodbye to the Classics: E.R. & Guiding Light

After 15 seasons of ups and downs with different cast members, and providing a solid stepping stone for careers of actors such as George Clooney, Eriq La Salle and Mekhi Phifer, E.R. is taking its final bow tonight. The show was the most succesful of its kind during the last 15 seasons, paving the way for similar hospital dramas like House and Grey's Anatomy.

The series finale will be based on the real life alcohol poisoning death of the 17 yr. old niece of the sitcom's producer. Past cast members will make final appearances on the tonight's two part episode, and you can catch it on NBC at 8:00pm ET.

Also leaving the air is CBS veteran daytime drama, Guiding Light. The show is the longest running drama in television and radio history, having spent 72 years in broadcast production. The final episode is scheduled to air September 18, 2009.
