In the latest out-of-pocket airline fee news, Spirit Airlines announced today that it will begin charging passengers for carry-on luggage starting August 1. The fee will be $30 if paid in advance, and $45 if paid at the gate. So that's up to nearly a hundred dollars round trip just to bring your bags on the plane. That's ironic because they only charge up to $25 to check luggage.
Other airlines have yet to start charging for carry-on luggage but word is they've taken notice and will be watching the response to Spirit's new policies. So basically if Spirit starts making money from this crap, other Airlines will force me to start taking road trips.
