Google's Back in the Tablet Game: Introducing Nexus 7

Just a day after Apple won an injunction to prevent further sales of the iPad copy cat and Google-launched Samsung Galaxy Tab, Google has announced a new tablet, the Nexus 7, which begins shipping in July. Going head to head with Amazon's Kindle Fire, Nexus 7 will retail for $199 and boast full color display of movies, digital magazines and web browsing. The Nexus 7 is HD-enabled and weighs 12-ounces in comparison to the Fire's 14 ounce weight. In all honesty, this sounds like another copycat product but only time will tell. Are you interested in the Nexus 7 or are you sticking with the iPad/Fire?

  1. I have an iPhone, bought a ton of apps, have a ton of tunes and basically for the past several years have latched the Apple ball and chain onto my leg. I'd like to get an iPad, but can't stomach the $500+ price, but thought about an alternative for less... However, I don't know if I'll be able to transfer my Apple apps and tunes on a Non Apple device or am I scr3wed?

  2. Nikita - I would stick with the iPad. I have one and the syncing between iPhone & iPad is seamless. I feel you on being in the Apple ball and chain though (I have two iPods, an iPad and an iPhone, smh). I do not plan to purchase any other Apple products for awhile.
